Non Verbal Communication

Men in particular use this type of communication on a daily basis. A wave, finger point, fist bump, high five, or chest bump are good examples as well as a simple handshake. We use these gestures for various reasons.Sometimes we do it to avoid talking, or we may have differences with the person and only gesture out of respect or appearing to be congenial when really we despise them. I use these gestures to avoid taking down the wall that I have built around myself. So if I actually stop and talk to you, I obviously feel comfortable with you. If I pass you with the subtle head bob, there is something I'm not sure about or I simply don't know you enough. Sometimes men use these gestures because of the tough guy syndrome. I've been accused of this unjustly. I'm just shy. OK, open up guys, a little useless talk won't hurt anyone.

Blessings,
Steg
